Oh my gosh, I am so excited for this new launch and store. We are going to be creating and designing so many unique coastal themed items. From jewelry, super soft tees, one of a kind tumblers, and mermaid accessories to coastal themed charcuterie boards, stunning geode artwork, and even reclaimed furniture set to fit in a coastal or a coastal farmhouse theme.
To give you a little back story and why I named my store "Midwest Coast Designs" and to dive even deeper than the slogan "Located in the Midwest but abscessed with the coast". My husband and I are from the Midwest and he has been going to the beach since he was a baby. He took me to the beach for the first time in 2015, and let me just say it was love at first sight. I have been inspired by the ocean, the wildlife, the creatures that live in the ocean that we know of and those we don't know of, but I believe are real. (mermaids for example.) I have always loved the many colors and shades of blue, and this only made my love for this color grow even more. I am either always wearing some type of turquoise or aqua color. My home and office are decorated like a beach house with all those colors as well. I have always been a creative and I'm always making something crafty. When 2020 hit with all its problems, my mental health plummeted and I needed something to do to keep my mind distracted from everything that was going on around me, including the forced closure of my photography business. My friend suggested I start painting. I picked a few paints and watched some YouTube videos and then I started creating and designing things that reminded me of the beach and the colors of the ocean, and then I had a few friends tell me I should start selling my designs and creations, so I opened shop and here we are. Midwest Coast Designs was born.
